Actor/singer Takuya Kimura (53) and Ren Meguro (28) of the popular group Snow Man visited a Chinese restaurant on the November 24 broadcast of the variety program “Ultra Taxi” (TBS). In “Ultra Taxi,” Kimura acts as a taxi driver and drives his guests to their destinations while experiencing their own “things to do” together. In Meguro and another part of the show, actors Yu Aoi (40) and Aya Ueto (40) also “ride” in the taxi. The program also served as a promotion for Kimura’s latest movie, “TOKYO TAXI,” which opens in theaters on November 21. Kimura and Meguro met up in Odaiba, Tokyo, after dark and enjoyed golf and batting. In their preliminary meeting, Meguro mentioned that he rarely had a chance to eat out, so the program revealed that they had prepared a famous machuuka restaurant, which they decided to visit. The restaurant introduced in the program was “Rakuraku,” a 95-year-old establishment that is said to be the oldest machinuka restaurant in Koto-ku, Tokyo. When Kimura and Meguro came to the restaurant, the proprietress was overjoyed, saying, “Oh my God! Oh no!” The proprietress was overjoyed by Kimura and Meguro’s visit. Kimura and Meguro said, “Thank you for coming so late,” and apologized for coming to the restaurant close to 10:00 p.m. due to the location shooting, before taking their seats. The two toasted with beer. They enjoyed the restaurant’s recommended “fried wontons” and the fried rice Kimura ordered in addition. The proprietress watched Kimura as he tasted the food and said, “I like the way you eat. I always see (Kimura) in my dreams,” she confessed. Kimura responded with a flirtatious, “It’s been a while,” much to the landlady’s delight. After the meal was over, Kimura and Meguro began a full-fledged conversation. They continued to talk in depth with each other until the end. Viewers were excited by the fact that Kimura and Meguro, both big stars, had come to the restaurant and by the introduction of the delicious-looking menu that appeared in the program. I want to go to this Chinese restaurant Rakuraku so badly. I want to eat what Kimura and Meguro are eating. Fried rice and fried wontons look delicious!
