We interviewed him about his unexpected rebound, diet, current health condition, eating habits, etc. (Part 1 of 3). (Part 1 of 3 / Read more) ◆◆◆ –What is your current health condition like? When we spoke to you before, you were maintaining a weight of around 120 kg. HIRO I’m perfectly healthy, but I gained some weight a while ago, or rather, I gained too much, and I weighed 130 kilograms. I thought, “I must have eaten too much,” so I am currently on a diet and have dropped to 115 kilograms.
I weighed 120 kilograms in the sixth grade of elementary school and 198 kilograms in the third grade of junior high school. I weighed 198 kilograms in the third grade of junior high school.
–HIRO: You lost 15 kilograms at a rapid pace? HIRO I didn’t lose it all at once, but little by little. I was more concerned about my blood sugar and blood pressure being higher than my weight, so I decided to lose weight. I thought that if I left it as it was, I would have another cerebral hemorrhage or something and collapse. As for my weight, I decided based on the numbers. If I thought, “This might be bad,” I would go on a diet. And this time, I thought both were in trouble. –HIRO Have you been told by doctors that you need to lose weight? HIRO: Doctors have been telling me to lose weight since I was in elementary school (laughs). (Laughs.) So I’ve been told all year round, for 40 years. I weighed 60 kg in the first grade of elementary school. In the sixth grade, I weighed 120 kilograms. And 198 kilograms in the third year of junior high school. My school bag was finished in two days. You know those small milk cartons, about 200ml? I drank about 20 bottles of it. So I must have drank four liters of milk a day. In elementary school, the desks and chairs for the students didn’t fit, so I had to use the teacher’s table, which was basically the same one the teachers used. –HIRO You mentioned that you used to walk for a total of six hours a day. HIRO I stopped walking when I reached around 120 kg, but I started walking again. But I started walking again, but only for about an hour. I walk around my neighborhood, or when I have a business trip, I walk around the area. Wakayama is divided into Kinan, Kinchu, and Kihoku. The southern part is Kinan, the central part is Kinaka, and the northwestern part is Kihoku. I often drive to Kinan, park my car, and walk around.
