Actor Aya Ueto took the stage at the opening ceremony of the “Marugame Noodles: Freshly Cooked Autumn,” presented by 1,811 noodle craftsmen, held at Sensoji Temple in Tokyo on August 10. When asked what “craftsmanship” she is proud of, Ueto proudly stated, “I am a craftsman who spots celebrities on the street. [Photo] Cute…! Aya Ueto, who has always loved observing people, said, “I spot celebrities on the street. When I think, “That person looks like him or her,” I almost always find a colleague,” she asserts. She is also good at spotting staff members, saying, “The atmosphere is different. When I stare at a person and think, “That person looks like him or her,” then it turns out that he or she is indeed the same person. The other day, he ran into a staff member in a local area, “I found him in a shopping street the other day. I asked him, ‘Didn’t we used to work together a lot in the past? At the event, the eight noodle craftsmen who created the “Wagamachi Udon 47” products that will be revived this fall took the stage and introduced the development story of “Wagamachi Udon 47,” and Ueto answered quiz questions about Marugame Seimen’s udon and the craftsmen’s specialties. Ueto tasted Wagamachi Udon products and took a quiz to guess which prefecture’s Wagamachi Udon is from, and a quiz to introduce the craftsmanship of the artisans.
