The veteran band reported the end of their live activities. “It is with great regret that we have to inform you suddenly, but we have decided to cancel all activities, including the live performances scheduled for the year-end and New Year holidays, and to terminate our activities as a band as of today. We have decided to end our activities as a band and dissolve as of today. We have spent a long time discussing this decision. However, due to a series of events that have greatly shaken the trust between the members, it has become difficult for us to continue our activities while maintaining our foundation as a band,” he explained. “It has become difficult for us to deliver our music as a band as one, and we feel that we have reached our limits. We hope that unnecessary speculation and confusion will not spread. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all of our fans and everyone involved for their support, and we deeply apologize for this outcome. We will change the form of the group, and each of us will walk down a new path with the feelings we have received so far in our hearts. Thank you very much for your support. Kohei Ueno (vocal and guitar) stated, “I would like to tell you in my own words that we have come to the decision to disband,” followed by, “As stated in the official statement, there have been a series of events that have greatly shaken the trust between the members. This is due to my own immaturity and actions, and I take full responsibility for the consequences of the breakup and the cancellation of the live shows,” he explained. He apologized sincerely, saying, “I have betrayed the trust of the members who have worked with me for the past eight years, and I apologize from the bottom of my heart for the trouble I have caused to the staff and people involved who have supported me, and above all, to the fans who have supported me. He wrote, “From now on, I will reflect on my mistakes and inadequacies, and think about a new way forward. Yushi Matsubara (guitar and vocals) commented, “As one of the members who started this band, I will continue to hold on to my pride and love for it, but right now I am filled with feelings of apology and bitterness. I will continue to take pride and love in being one of the members who started this band, but right now I am filled with regret and bitterness. Still, I only hope that the Songbirds’ existence and songs will continue to light up somewhere in your hearts”. Eishu Iwata (drums and chorus) said, “In our more than eight years of progress, we have had both the best and the worst. It has been a very valuable experience with no shortage of learning opportunities. I would like to thank all the people and fans who have helped me,” he said. Regarding the cancellation of the live concert, we are very eager to see how it ends, and we have actively arranged opportunities to discuss this, but we have been unable to restore enough trust to be able to stand on the same stage, so we have had to cancel the concert. We apologize to everyone who has been waiting for this. The Songbards formed in Kobe in 2017. In May 2011, Atsushi Shibata left the group as bassist and vocalist. In June of the same year, they became independent from their office and label and launched their own independent label and office “Nowhere Works”.
